Can't display properties window for Design objects

Hey all,
I'm running PlanetPress Suite 7 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 VM - and I'm having this issue where, when I right click on design document object (like a barcode, for example) and click 'Properties...' from the context-menu, normally another window will pop-up in the foreground. What's happening now is that no window appears in the foreground, and the design document all but freezes, forcing me to end PlanetPress Design from the task manager.
I've had this happen to me in the past, and the solution was usually to reboot the machine - after doing so, the problem went away. Unfortunately, this is no longer working.
Any ideas?

Hi NichardRixon,
Here's a few things you can try: - First off, try creating a brand-new document, draw a box and try to Right-click->Properties, see if it crashes. If it works, the problem could be something specific to your PlanetPress document. (maybe it tries to render too much stuff and everything you do causes a lot of processing to happen) - If it still crashes, hold down the Left CTRL key and try opening PlanetPress Design, keep it pressed until it boots up. This will reset all preferences and settings to their default values and might fix the problem. - If it doesn't work, try running a Repair on your install from Windows Program and Features. - If it still doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Maybe do a "clean" uninstall, where you uninstall, then delete all folders in the Program Files and ProgramData folders, and even the registry keys. Make sure you backup everything important if you do this!!
If all fails, or if you do not feel comfortable with my suggestions, feel free to contact Technical Support and they will assist you.
Regards, Raphaël Lalonde-Lefebvre

Does running a repair reset/mess-up any of the configurations of PlanetPress Design or PlanetPress Configuration? Or the current configuration that's been sent to the PlanetPress service that begins on startup?
Also, do I need an active OL Care subscription to contact tech support?

You can safely run the repair, your current configuration and settings will be left untouched.
You do need an active OL Care subscription to get Tech Support.
That said, you haven't posted the results of trying out the suggestions made by Raphael. In particular, the one about launching the Designer while holding down the left CTRL key, which will reset the visual preferences in the Designer (it won't mess up the templates or anything else).

Okay, so I tried Raphael's first two suggestions which unfortunately did not work.
So, my next option will be running the repair. I will give that a shot tomorrow morning and let you know how it goes.

Running into issues after the repair.
Can't start the PlanetPress Production or PlanetPress Designer - getting errors about missing modules.
Does the repair change the installed components? For some reason, looks like PlanetPress Watch is no longer installed - wondering if I should change the configuration and add that component back in.

I managed to get through the error. After the repair - and a restart - I had to repair and restart again.
Still having the display issue though unfortunately.
