Hi huys,

Our printing solution is almost ready to go live. However we are having a small issue when printing. The created pdf with it all the text is a bit smaller then the original document.

You may say whats the problem? But these documents are legal so the must be of the same size. They are a little bit compressed when the are send to the printer queue with the design design document.

However I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. When I print to the printer directly it is all good they come out the original size etc. But when they are printed true the queue (With the design included) the are compressed. Does anybody know how to fix this problem??

Thx in advance! smile

Patrick,

Can you tell us exactly how you print when you say "printed through the queue"? Are you using a Printer Queue Output, or Print Using Windows Driver?

Also, if you produce a pdf version of the job, does the pdf looks good? If so, if you print the pdf from Acrobat, is the text compressed, or is it correct?

Let us know!

Regards,
Raphaël Lalonde Lefebvre

Printer Queue Output that is what I use smile. (Sorry for that)
When I send the rtf document to PDF cute writer it stays in its original size, when I send it to planetpress it resizes it.

My design document is hooked up with the printe Queue Output.
Kinda wierd that it happesn but it happens in the design document somewhere I think (Or atleast I hope)

Patrick,

PlanetPress does do it's own conversion to eps in the background, using it's own resolution settings, such as those in the Document's "Resource options". You can try to increase the values there. For best quality, use 2400 for the resolutions, 100% compression level, or change Photo to Line Art. Then reimport the pdf files(if they are not dynamic), and make sure that the Picture objects that displays them is the exact same size as your page to make sure there's no downscaling.

Let us know if that makes a difference! (Note: using top quality settings might make the job run slower. High quality = less speed, and there's not much we can do about this.)
