We have a search and replace plugin action that looks for the tilde character and replaces it with a space. It has been bullet proof for many, many years. And now it's not.... When it fails it gives the following error:

Code:
ERROR: W3677 : Error closing file: A call to an OS function failed
ERROR: Search and Replace: W1603 : Plugin failed - 09:14:48 (elapsed time: 00:00:00:016)

There is nothing in the Windows event logs that seems to correspond to the error. The only "fix" is to stop/restart PlanetPress Office.

Any ideas?

PlanetPress Office 7.6.2.9999

Hi Mark,

This looks like your real-time protection software might have locked the temp file to scan it and we couldn't access it at the time of closing it. Can you confirm if this problem is intermittent? When you rerun the same job right away does it succeed? IF so, you should ensure you have the anti-virus exceptions configured and let us know if you still get that problem.

Thanks for the gentle reminder! PlanetPress Office workflow has been so reliable for so long I have forgotten some of the basics on what to look for....

As you surmised, the problem appears to be intermittent. I'm working with the Windows admin powers that be to apply exceptions to McAfee.
